Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite - JoeyD chimes in
Last tuesday, September 19th, the long-awaited Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite was released to the masses. After an untold number of gripes from the community regarding issues ranging from Chun Li's weird face to the seemingly bare roster, the live version of the game has been more or less welcomed with open arms. For many, the gameplay outweighs most of the game's cosmetic shortcomings. Our own Joey "JoeyD" D'Alessandro took some time to answer a few questions about the game.
What do you enjoy about MvC: I out of the gate? As a Marvel vet, does it feel very different from UMvC3?
As a new game, I really enjoy the influx of people playing. More people to body, more money to make. Also, I really like the combo and stone system as it currently stands. However, it is VERY different from Marvel 3.
Who are your favorite characters right now?
My favorite characters are obviously the bae Zero, and my favorite new character is Thanos, by far. (JoeyD has since hinted at potentially pickin up Ultron)
One complaint about Street Fighter V was that it was difficult and intimidating for new talent to jump into. Do you think MvC:I is an attractive title for newcomers and aspiring pro gamers? What advice would you give someone looking to get into this game?
I think MvC:I is gonna have a much harder time attracting the general population than Street Fighter, strictly because any casual player who puts in any amount of time will destroy anyone who is uninitiated without contest. My advice would be to put up with the butt whoopins. It gets better in time.
JoeyD placed 17th at SoCal Regionals, which took place from September 22 through 24. We look forward to seeing what JoeyD can bring to the table as the game continues to mature, and the meta begins to evolve.
No-one has posted any comments, how sad!
